Imagine creating a highly customized quiz that instantly speaks to learners across the globe. Sounds like a dream? Well, time to wake up because EduBase has just made it a reality!

Our EduBase Assistant has leveled up, and it's ready to take your quiz questions on a linguistic journey. Let's dive into what this means for you and your content!

The Power of Context-Aware Translation

You might be thinking:

"I can just pop the question into Google Translate and get the same results, no? What's the big deal?"

Well, this isn't your grandmother's translation tool. EduBase Assistant doesn't just swap words; it understands the heart of your question. It grasps what you're trying to measure and ensures that intent survives its journey to a new language.

But what does this mean exactly?

1. Parametric Perfection

Remember that we support parameters within questions? (If not, check out our previous article). Well, guess what? Our translation feature plays nice with them, too! Whether you're dealing with numbers or words, the Assistant understands each parameter's role and places it perfectly in the target language, respecting its grammar and syntax.

The translation respects the grammar of the target language and understands how parameters work within the context of the question. (Translation from Hungarian to English)
The parameter names are deliberately not translated to ensure consistency over your questions. (Translation from English to German)
LaTeX formulas are also supported...
... and even their complete, step-by-step solutions are translated. (Translation from Hungarian to English)

2. Selective Attention

EduBase Assistant is smart enough to know what needs translating and what doesn't. Code snippets with English commands? Better not translate that. LaTeX expressions within formulae? Left intact. Subscripts in scientific notations? Translated, if necessary. It's like having a bilingual expert carefully curating your content.

English commands are preserved in the code, as they should be. (Translated from English to Hungarian)
NASA's expanded form is not translated, because that's what the question is about. (Translation from English to Hungarian)

3. Multitasking Marvel

You have tons of questions to translate? No problem! The Assistant works tirelessly in the background, translating multiple questions while keeping you updated on their progress. It's like having a team of translators working around the clock while you have a peaceful coffee break.

The Assistant is working on your questions in the background.

Your Content, Your Control

Once translated, these questions are all yours. Edit them, tweak them, or translate them further–the power is in your hands. It's like having a multilingual clone of yourself, creating the content just the way you would!

What This Means for EduBase Users

  1. Global Reach: Serving more customers worldwide. Your carefully crafted content can be used with learners from a much wider audience.
  2. Time & Cost Efficiency: No need to export your questions, send them to a translator, wait for the results, and then painstakingly re-upload everything back into EduBase. (And let's not even talk about the nightmare of maintaining parametrization through all of this!) The translated questions appear right in your EduBase environment, fully formatted and ready to go.
  3. Consistency: Maintains the integrity of your questions across all languages, ensuring all learners get the same quality of content.
  4. Flexibility: Did you find a mistake in the original question and you don't want to manually edit all other questions? Just re-do the translations with a click.

The Fine Print (Because We Believe in Transparency)

While EduBase Assistant is pretty helpful, it's not infallible and has its limitations. Language-specific questions might pose a challenge, and it won't translate text within your images, you still have to do that yourself. But fear not – you always have the final say. If a translation needs tweaking, you can edit and refine it as needed.

Also, languages that read from right to left are not supported yet.

With all this in mind...
